The History of the Agency

Anthony and Malcolm Insurance Agency, Inc. began in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1919.

The Model "T" Ford was a popular American made auto that could purchased for around $295.00.

We're quite sure the Agency insured a few of those cars over the years.

Since it's inception, the Agency acquired several other local Agencies to add companies and people to the operation.

The name has changed a few times over the years.

The Malcolm family now operates the Agency.

The Agency's goals are much the same as when the doors opened in 1919.

They are:

  • Listen to the customer's needs
  • Fill those needs as best we can
  • Do so quickly, affordably, and in a friendly manner

And the rest is history.

The following riddle was told by Fannie Malcolm who was born New Years day 1899.

She had many funny stories of horse and buggies, sleighs, and the poor insulation in her house which allowed her to draw in the frost on the walls in the wintertime.

Another one of her favorite stories was that of her and her friend.  Fannie was always a late sleeper.   She would tie a string around her big toe, and let it hang out the window with a donut attached to the end of it.   In the morning, her friend would come by and tug on the string, and eat the donut.   Fannie would wake up this way and they would walk to the five cent movie house to see the latest silent movie.  We've had a lot of fun with this riddle over the years.   Hopefully you will enjoy it also.
