Seasonal Safety Tips courtesy of Arbella Insurance Group!

It's easy for us to get too relaxed about safety.  Here are some ideas to read and share with your family.

Keep your home and your family safe this summer by following these helpful tips.

BACKYARD SAFETY
DSC00126

-If you have a swimming pool, secure fencing (including base) with a locked entrance around the entire pool.  Do not leave small children in or near a pool alone, even for a moment.  An adult should be within arms length, providing "touch supervision" at all times.
-If you have a propane or barbecue grill, it should be placed well away from the home, deck railings, and out from under eaves overhanging branches.  Keep children and pets away from the grill area.
-Do not use flammable liquids such as gasoline or kerosene, to kindle outdoor grills, fireplaces, fire pits or campfires.

The number of home burglaries traditionally spike in the summer months. I think that light timers and Fake TV www.faketv.com) are excellent solutions to deter burglars. Also, playing anti-theft home occupancy sounds MP3 or a CD (sells on Amazon or at http://www.webensource.com/burglar_deterrent_cd/ ) in home while away is a great way to trick burglar that someone is in.
